Key information

Comfort on Your Adventure
Day 1 · Welcome to Croatia & Plitvice’s Emerald Lakes

Welcome to Croatia! Your host will meet you in Zagreb – either at the airport or in the city center.

Join a transfer for the journey to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Along the way, enjoy views of rolling farmland and villages before arriving at the park’s edge. Surrounded by dense beech forests, Plitvice is celebrated for its vivid emerald lakes and cascading waterfalls, earning UNESCO World Heritage status.

On arrival, you’ll settle into a cozy guesthouse or lodge. Join your fellow travelers for a welcome drink and a delicious dinner as your host outlines the adventure that lies ahead.

Day 2 · Wander Among Plitvice’s Cascades and Hidden Pools

After a hearty breakfast, you transfer to the Lower Lakes entrance of Plitvice. Step onto the famous wooden boardwalks, feeling the mist from the thunderous Veliki Slap waterfall.

Meander through the bustling Lower Lakes before ascending into the Upper Lakes, where woodland trails reveal hidden pools and quiet inlets. Pause to take in sweeping views of tiered lakes shimmering in the sunlight and wrap up with a serene electric boat crossing of Kozjak Lake.

After a day full of sweeping views, return to your accommodation for a relaxed evening surrounded by forest whispers.

Day 3 · Paddle, Splash, and Journey to Velebit

Set off on a 1h drive to the Mrežnica River where you’ll either paddle through the gentle rapids by kayak or team up for an exhilarating raft ride – depending on the season’s flow. Glide past emerald cascades and swim in hidden pools along one of Croatia’s most pristine waterways and feel the cool water refresh your spirit.

After the river adventure, enjoy a picnic-style lunch and then journey inland to the Velebit Mountains, your multi-day hiking playground. Upon arrival, settle into your accommodation, refresh and relax, as your host introduces the trails you’ll explore over the next few days.

Day 4 · Northern Velebit: High Ledges and Alpine Panoramas

Start your day with a drive up to Northern Velebit, the gateway to the legendary Premužić Trail. Follow the high-level ledge carved into rugged karst, a landscape of pinnacles, dolines, and stone pines. Experience the wildest Velebit karst, a landscape so varied and richly developed that it ranks among the world’s most remarkable karst regions.

Shortly after setting off, there’s the option to scramble up a nearby rocky knoll for a panoramic vista of the Adriatic and inland ridges. Continuing along the ledge, you’ll pass the charming Rossijeva Koliba Hut, where we will stop for a quick refreshment then enjoy a picnic lunch beside limestone springs or grassy plateaus.

The hike takes you through dramatic scenery until you reach the final destination of the day. Jump on a transfer to your evening accommodation for a well deserved rest, with dinner options.

Day 5 · Limestone Trails and Adriatic Horizons

After a hearty breakfast, transfer to where you left off and continue your on foot journey. Walk across a sweeping limestone plateau, dotted with alpine flowers, with the Adriatic shimmering on the horizon. Spot islands like Krk, Pag, and Rab, and on clear days, even the shores of Italy.

You’ll find yourself reaching for your camera at every turn. Pause for a mountain-style picnic with breathtaking panoramas before the trail winds past reclaimed pastures and ancient meadows, offering glimpses into Velebit’s cultural history.

End the trek with a transfer back to your accommodation for evening relaxation with available dinner options.

Day 6 · Final Velebit Trek & Arrival in Coastal Split

Enjoy a mountain breakfast before picking up the trail where you left off and where the final leg of the Premužić Trail begins. Step into beech and fir woodlands, crest a low ridge for one last panorama of the Adriatic, and meander past old shepherd’s meadows and limestone peaks. Pause for a well-deserved picnic lunch, savoring the peace of the mountains.

End your multi-day hike at Baške Oštarije and relax over a final cup of refreshment before transferring to Split. Tonight you’ll rest in a comfortable hotel and have the opportunity to dine on Dalmatian specialties, celebrating your journey along one of Europe’s most spectacular mountain trails.

Day 7 · Sea Kayaking Through Secret Coves & Farewell Feast

Paddle through hidden coves, sheer cliffs, and wave-carved grottoes along the Adriatic coast. Glide across vivid blue waters, stop on a sheltered beach for a picnic, and swim or snorkel in crystalline waves. As evening falls, transfer inland for a traditional farewell dinner, savoring hearty Dalmatian dishes and local wines, and relive the memories of your adventure-packed journey.

Day 8 · Until Next Time: Memories from Split

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your journey home, returning with a camera full of memories and plenty of tales to tell.
